Dinner at Zenkichi
Friday night before we left for Vegas was reserved to go out with friends. We decided to try a Japanese restaurant in Williamsburg before meeting up with everyone for drinks. It was me, Ilya and my brother Ryan. Zenkichi deserves its own post. It was by far one of the top five dining experiences ever. It's been a few days and Ilya and I still recount the details of our wonderful meal. When yo enter the three story establishment it smells like you're walking into a spa. It's not an overpowering smell that will bother you...it's just a tranquil, refreshing smell. You're led up a very dimly lit staircase surrounding by garden rocks and little paths. This place has a great look. The lights are barely on and there are faint candles glowing at the tables. We were seated in a booth with a bamboo shade that is drawn at all times except for when we were interacting with the server. The menu was a Japanese food lovers dream which in turn means - you must like fish. When I say you must like fish, I don't mean the broiled salmon or chilean seabass that is on every mundane menu. We each went with the chefs Omakasa menu. It was a tasting of some of the most delicious, Japanese seafood (and a few non fish) delicacies one could desire. I am putting up more than one post to include all of the pics we took of the food at zenkichi. The food was that special. We also had some tasty unfiltered sake which helped kick off a great night at the next spot....Radegast Hall and Biergarten.
